Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna has been linked with the Manchester United job
Liverpool spoke to current Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna about a coaching role in 2014 before he eventually joined the Manchester United backroom staff instead. United are thought to be considering the 38-year-old as a potential managerial candidate should Erik ten Hag depart this summer.
It's even been suggested that he met with manager Brendan Rodgers to discuss the potential move. However, McKenna declined and instead joined United two years later.READ MORE: Liverpool truth clear after theories about Jurgen Klopp's decision to quit This sentiment would likely still hold if a first-team position at Old Trafford became available in the coming weeks, especially with Ten Hag's future uncertain even if the Red Devils secure their 13th FA Cup this month.
