The Italian community off Scottie Road left their mark on Liverpool
But they were once home to a community of Italian families who left their mark on Liverpool, from the instruments they played to the mosaics they laid in St George's Hall and some of the city's famous buildings on William Brown Street.

The Capaldi family is well known across Liverpool for the days when they sold their ice-cream from hand carts and later at their cafés in Wavertree Road and Kensington. The cafés were initially run by Mario's Liverpool-born grandad Antonio, who previously sold ice-cream in Little Italy, and then dad Armando, known by many as 'Mandy'.
