Reports have surfaced suggesting that Liverpool could be eyeing a move for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite after interest from Manchester United.
There has been speculation that United may still have an interest in signing Branthwaite despite bringing Yoro and De Ligt to Old Trafford. However, it seems that the Reds may face competition from their fierce Merseyside rivals for his signature, reports the Liverpool Echo. Reports first suggested Liverpool's interest in Branthwaite back in August. No new centre-backs were signed by Liverpool in the summer, and it remains to be seen if that will be the same stance taken in the New Year.
United currently have De Ligt and Lisandro Martinez as their first-choice centre-back partnership. Yoro is yet to make his first competitive appearance for United since signing from Lille after suffering a fractured metatarsal during pre-season, while Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans are the other central defensive options available to Ten Hag.
