Police have issued a statement now confirming they are at the scene in Piccadilly Gardens following a road traffic collision involving a bus and pedestrians.
We have been told by Greater Manchester Police that at least two people are in a serious condition. With at least four people having been hit by the bus."We're currently in attendance at Piccadilly Gardens after being called to a report of a road traffic collision involving a bus and pedestrians just before 9.30pm tonight.
Emergency services are in attendance and two pedestrians are currently being treated at the scene. Motorists and those nearby are asked to avoid the area whilst officers and emergency responders remain at the scene."A couple of hundred onlookers here beside the cordon.
