A US-proposed United Nations Security Council resolution on Gaza will be brought to a vote today, according to a US official. The resolution calls for “an immediate and sustained ceasefire… in connection with the release of all remaining hostages.” Talks on a ceasefire and hostages deal will resume in Qatar today, according to sources familiar with the plans.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who will head to Israel today, said 'gaps are narrowing' in negotiations on a deal but challenges remain. Israel will not send about two dozen Palestinian patients back to Gaza until the country's Supreme Court rules on the merits of the case. The court had temporarily halted a plan to send the patients back following a CNN report.
