According to the social media post, 13 students were transported to the hospital via ambulance or buses for treatment, and two others have been transferred to San Antonio hospitals. Another is pending a transfer, officials said.
In an email, the San Antonio Police Department said it has sent its resources to assist Uvalde authorities. The department said it is sending its EAGLE helicopter, crime scene investigators, and SWAT team to Uvalde. The San Antonio Fire Department also said it was sending its incident command vehicles and additional resources on standby if needed.Students have been transported to the Willie DeLeon Civic Center for reunification. Uvalde CISD said parents are encouraged to pick up their students at this time.University Health in San Antonio tweeted that it has received two patients — a child and an adult — connected to the shooting in Uvalde. Earlier, the district said that all schools in the district were locked down because of gunshots in the area. A Uvalde Police Department dispatcher said the scene was still active and that no other information was immediately available. There is an active shooter at Robb Elementary. As soon as more information is gathered it will be shared.School and city officials did not immediately return messages seeking comment.
