In a statement at 5.29am, NET said it would keep passengers updated as the situation progresses - trams are currently not able to reach Toton Lane or Clifton South. The exact nature of the police incident is not yet known.
NET said in a statement: "Due to a police incident at Trent University, our trams are currently turning back at the Forest, and therefore not able to reach Toton Lane or Clifton South for the start of our early morning services. We will keep you updated as the situation changes.
