Some drivers have been stuck in snow on the M62 for more than four hours - and they are still there now
Yorkshire was hit with blizzard conditions overnight, with rescue teams reuniting drivers stranded in snow with their friends and families. And drivers were stuck for several hours on the M62 - as heavy snow continued to create awful conditions on the region's roads.for snow and ice remain in place today and over the weekend - with an 'Amber' warning in place for parts of Greater Manchester until midday.
And, In an alert shortly after midnight, the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for wind that remains in place until 5am. The weather forecaster said: "Strong easterly winds have developed over the western Pennines and are expected to continue for several hours until easing towards dawn on Friday. Gusts of 50 to 60 mph are possible in places. This will lead to particularly poor travelling conditions where snow is falling.
There were blizzard conditions in the Holme Valley, in Kirklees, West Yorkshire.
