LIVE: Police cordon off busy city centre road with forensics on scene - latest updates
Pictures show a stretch of Whitworth Street West taped off, near a number of nightclubs and bars. At least two police vehicles are on the scene, including a Crime Scene Investigation van.
Forensic officers have placed evidence markers within the cordon. The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed.Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for information on this incident.
