LIVE | EFF guns for Mkhwebane inquiry chair Qubudile Dyantyi
She says they shouldn't"derail and focus on things that does not concern this committee". -ANC MP Albert Seabi supports Dlakude's proposal that they adopt the programme so that the committee continues with its work. ANC deputy chief whip Doris Dlakude welcomes the proposed programme. She says they have always said the programme is a"living document". She urges her colleagues to adopt the programme so that the committee can"forge ahead".
Dlakude, who was in the Programming Committee yesterday, says the concern is that Parliament hasn't formally been informed of the committee's work, which has been postponed several times. Dyantyi allows Dlakude to continue. She proposes that when the resume with their work, they conclude the two charges on which evidence have been led, and then they can produce a report which can be presented to the National Assembly.
Holomisa also wants the chairperson of the Ethics Committee to brief the committee on allegations of extortion Mkhwebane levelled against Dyantyi. According to the proposed programme, hearings will continue on Monday and run for the whole week, as well as the following week. Closing statements will be heard on 28 June. The draft report will be tabled on 11 July, and the committee will adopt it on 12 July. It will then be sent to Mkhwebane.
As far as PPSA is concerned, the fees issues has been resolved and there is nothing preventing the committee continuing.
