The shooting at former President Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania is being investigated as an attempted assassination of the former president and presumptive Republican nominee, law enforcement officials say.
Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt before he was whisked off the stage at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when gunshots rang through the crowd.The former president and presumptive Republican nominee was showing off a chart of border crossing numbers during his last rally before the Republican National Convention opens Monday when bangs started ringing through the crowd. Trump could be seen reaching with his right hand toward his neck. There appeared to be blood on his face.
President Joe Biden addresses the nation, saying there's no place for violence. He plans to speak with Trump. Biden says "everybody must condemn" the attack. "There’s no place in America for this type of violence," he said. "It’s sick. It’s sick."FOX News reported an eyewitness told the BBC on Saturday that he saw a "man on top of a roof" near President Trump's Pennsylvania rally.
