NFL: Usher performed the SBLVIII halftime show in Vegas, bringing in special guests to help him produce one of the better performances in recent memory.
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are looking to lift their third Lombardi Trophy in five seasons but trail the San Francisco 49ers 16-13 in Super Bowl LVIII.
San Francisco methodically worked its way down the field with a balanced offensive approach early, mixing in runs with chunk gains for Kyle Juszczyk and McCaffrey through the air. But two penalties backed up the 49ers and saw punter Mitch Wishnowsky called on, with the Australian pinning the Chiefs deep in their own half with a 54-yard bomb.He ranked second in the NFL in punts placed inside-the-10 and first in percentage of punts placed inside the area in 2023.
The successful attempt gave the 49ers a 3-0 lead early in the second quarter and while it was a start the scoreboard certainly didn’t reflect San Francisco’s dominance at that point. In reply, the Chiefs were then able to work themselves into the red zone on a 13-play drive but had to settle for a Harrison Butker field goal.

Banks, supermarkets, aviation and energy companies are exploiting their market power in ways that drive up inflation and hurt Australian households, according to the former chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
