The entrance is being guarded by police.More than 30 protesters linked to the national EFF shutdown were arrested on Monday after they tried to disrupt the operations of a Woolworths in Sandton.
"When the police arrived in those areas, the opportunistic criminal elements disappeared, and they never resurfaced."There is heavy police presence as well as members of the South African National Defence Force around the compound that houses Mahlamba Ndlopfu - Ramaphosa's official residence. Addressing them, Malema says they do not seek to deliver a memorandum but still want to send a clear message that Ramaphosa must go.
"We were well prepared ahead of today and this was evident in how law enforcement agencies, from the South African Police Service to municipal law enforcement, as well as the South African National Defence Force closely coordinated their operations with other emergency services and community-based structures.
"Through our solid partnership with the SAPS we upheld the rule of law. I would also like to thank WCG staff who reported for duty today to serve our citizens," he said.Malema calls protest 'the most successful shutdown ever in the history of struggle in SA' "So our final destination today is the Eskom offices to say to whoever has powers, they must stop this thing of switching electricity on and off.
