During D23, Disney revealed the first look for the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie in the form of a motion poster. The film will be released in theaters in the summer of 2025.
“As Stitch, a runaway genetic experiment from a faraway planet, wreaks havoc on the Hawaiian Islands, he becomes the mischievous adopted alien “puppy” of an independent little girl named Lilo and learns about loyalty, friendship, and ʻohana, the Hawaiian tradition of family,” says the synopsis for the original movie.The live-action Lilo & Stitch movie is being directed by Oscar nominee Dean Fleischer Camp from a screenplay written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright.
The original movie featured the voices of Daveigh Chase, Sanders, Carrere, David Ogden Stiers, Kevin McDonald, Rhames, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Lee. It was both a box office and critical success, with a worldwide gross of over $270 million.
