The Beddisons purchased Allanvale in 2004 from the children of Sir Alec and Lady Creswick, who had owned it since the 1950s. Before that, it was owned by the Myer family and then the Grimwade family. Alongside his Phoenix Lithium venture, which is chaired by former BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto executive Donald Carroll, Mr Wakim is a well-known horse breeder.In 2021, he paid $2.85 million for a 73-hectare equine property at Hilldene, which is just a 20-minute drive from the Allanvale Estate.
