Now 61 and still releasing albums, Weller has dabbled in everything from punk and pop to R&B, funk and soul. His stints with The Jam and The Style Council might’ve been relatively short-lived in comparison to his near three-decade solo run, but there are timeless songs from every era of his influential career.
On this day in 1992, Weller performed at the Ritz in New York City to promote his debut, self-titled solo album. Weller treated the crowd to an impressive set of some of his all-time great songs. He performed solo hits like “Uh Huh Oh Yeh,” “Above The Clouds,” “Into Tomorrow” and “Wild Wood.” Weller also brought out Style Council favorites like “Long Hot Summer,” “Headstart for Happiness” and “Man in the Corner Shop.
