CLEVELAND, Ohio — A survey ranking the best cities in the U.S. for a “staycation” ranks Orlando, Florida, No. 1, but a city in Ohio wasn’t far from the top.puts Cincinnati at No. 3, right behind Honolulu, Hawaii. Only one other Ohio city cracks the top 50 and that’s Columbus at No. 50. Cleveland was put at No. 57.
WalletHub says its study compared more than 180 cities using 42 key metrics. Among those metrics are swimming pools per capita, in which Cleveland tied for first with Philadelphia. It also looked at the availability of museums, tennis courts, golf courses, zoos and aquariums, beer gardens, ice cream and yogurt shops, coffee and tea shops, and spas.
The survey says Cincinnati is “especially good” for outside activities, with several pools, parks and baseball fields. It also has several affordable high-quality restaurants, the survey says. Orlando is home to multiple tourist attractions, including Disney World, so it’s not too surprising to see it at No. 1.
