Liquor traders left out of KZN unrest relief fund | Witness

The National Liquor Traders have lashed out at the KwaZulu-Natal provincial government after they were left out of a R10 million relief fund for township and rural shop owners following last year’s unrest. | WitnessKZN

The provincial government recently announced that it had approved an intervention aimed at providing a relief grant to rural and township shops that were affected by the looting and unrest, but this fund excluded support to alcohol and related products sellers.

The liquor traders said they were not surprised by the latest government “snub”.
