HPE has already sold its former digs in northwest Houston to a global liquor distributor...

Mexcor International has purchased HPE's former campus in northwest Houston with plans to expand its own business and create a mixed-use project. As Hewlett Packard Enterprise prepares to formally open its global headquarters in Spring, the technology firm has already sold its former digs in northwest Houston to a global liquor distributor with ambitious plans to give the 66-acre campus new life.

With that 28-acre campus and the former HPE site, Mexcor has 2.3 million square feet of commercial space spread across 94 acres. Although nothing is set in stone, Morales said he expects to hire real estate consultants to help him craft a vision for the property with a master plan. The property encompasses five office buildings, two manufacturing/distribution buildings and four additional buildings housing maintenance and amenity space. Built between 1984 and 1988, the campus features climate-controlled skywalks, a full-service cafeteria, fitness center, numerous employee lounge areas and conference rooms, coffee/snack bars and an outdoor covered pavilion with a kitchen area for events, according to real estate brokerage JLL, which represented HPE in the transaction.

Founded in 1989, the family-owned company started out distributing tequilas produced by Morales' family in Mexico.
