The Benoni Lakes Lions again had a successful collection of recyclable goods for charity on February 4, and they encourage local schools to support the initiative.
The Benoni Lakes Lions put your recyclable plastic material, including bottle tops and bread tags, to good use. They also collect recyclable electronic goods to stop them from ending up in landfills. They are: Helda Sergel, Diane Townsend, Kendyl Townsend, Nick Maré, Darren Hendry and Beaulieu Maré.
Lion Beaulieu Maré described the event as a success and thanked the community for its continued support since the project’s inception early last year. According to Maré, the Lions have a working partnership with many Benoni schools and would like to have the Boksburg schools on board.
