Messi is set to make his sixth World Cup apperance, and he partnered with Stanley Cup to celebrate.
The 2026 World Cup is just over a week away, kicking off in Mexico on June 11 and culminating in the final on July 19, hosted by MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
As North America prepares to welcome a slew of soccer fans and tourists alike, brands have also been working to meet the moment, rolling out targeted campaigns and collaborations just in time for one of sports’ biggest moments. Stanley Cup, a brand made famous for its durable drinkware, is the latest company to roll out a product line in support of soccer’s quadrennial slate of events: “Stanley 1913” with, with prices ranging from $12 to $70.
Among the items available are a bombilla straw — used for yerba mate, a beverage Messi famously enjoyed following Argentina’s World Cup win in 2022 — and “GOAT” branded flip straw tumblers in Stanley’s traditional silhouette. However, following Argentina’s World Cup win in 2022, Messi signed with Inter Miami CF and made his official debut with the team in July 2023. His continued commitment to soccer made retirement rumors less believable, and fans were not shocked to see his name on the official squad lists rolled out by FIFA on June 2.
Standout names alongside Messi include Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappé, the latter of whom lost to Messi and the Argentine team following a shootout that concluded the 2022 World Cup.
