A now disabled Tesla LinkedIn post and job posting appears to hint at the automaker's ambitions to integreat 5G into its cars and Optimus.
The job posting has since been deleted or blocked by Tesla, which indicates that the position might have already been filled.An interesting LinkedIn job posting from Tesla appears to point to its ambitions to bring 5G to its products. The now-removed post revealed that Tesla hopes to develop a “private 5G” system for its electric cars and Optimus robot.was an early adopter of internet connection in its electric vehicles.
The job description further mentioned, “Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Cellular Systems Integration Engineer for the global IT Manufacturing Solutions Engineering team to deliver a best-in-class connectivity experience for all Tesla Vehicles and Optimus on Tesla premises.” The description mentions Tesla’s private 5G network infrastructure on its premises. Tesla likely plans to deploy its private network in its manufacturing facility to stay connected to its products, vehicles, and Optimus robots., if a product can connect to a 5G network, assuming it can also connect to public networks is reasonable. Compared to 4G networks, which have a latency range of 60 milliseconds to 98 milliseconds, 5G networks offer much lower latency, under five milliseconds.
The company also seems to be working towards developing the foundation for its upcoming cars and products. For example, Tesla has recently introduced free one-month trials for its full self-driving software, usually costing $12,000.
