In honor of MeanGirlsDay, Lindsay Lohan shared a new look at her holiday rom-com FallingForChristmas, her first major role in nearly a decade.
Lindsay Lohan celebrates Mean Girls day with the first look at her upcoming romantic comedy, Falling for Christmas. The actress, who found major fame following her performance as estranged twin sisters Halle and Annie in 1998's The Parent Trap, went on to star in various iconic movies throughout the late '90s and early 2000s, including Life-Size, Freaky Friday, and Mean Girls.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Falling for Christmas will follow Lohan as a recently engaged, spoiled heiress who suffers from amnesia following a ski accident, and is taken in under the care of blue-collar widower and his daughter at Christmastime. Glee's Chord Overstreet will star opposite Lohan as her down-and-out love interest. The most recent feature-length film Lohan starred in was almost ten years ago, alongside James Deen in IFC's The Canyons .
Falling For Christmas Could Be Lindsay Lohan's Comeback Role While Lohan has struggled to attain the same movie-star status she held in the 2000s, Falling for Christmas could be the perfect opportunity for her comeback. As Netflix is still the No. 1 streaming platform in the world, it offers limitless potential for Lohan's big return to be promoted to millions of Americans, all from the comfort of their home.
However, a place on Netflix's holiday lineup does not guarantee success. The quality of Falling for Christmas will affect how audiences view Lohan's comeback. While Netflix has succeeded in the past with such films as A Christmas Prince, The Christmas Chronicles and The Princess Switch, not every holiday flick has been as well-received.
