First look photos and a teaser video have been released for a new movie featuring Lili Reinhart as a Ph.D. candidate and Tom Bateman as a professor who enter into a fake relationship.
First look photos were released of Reinhart and Bateman were released Thursday. A video dropped on social media Thursday morning showing Reinhart grabbing a sugary coffee treat, a nod to her character Olive who often orders caffeinated concoctions on her on campus “dates” with Bateman’s Adam.
Reinhart takes a sip from the coffee cup before asking the barista, “Can I actually get sprinkles on this? ” The cup reads “9.23” to reference the release date.follows Olive , a brilliant Ph. D. candidate focused on her future in academia,” the film’s synopsis reads.
“But when she realizes her best friend Ahn has fallen for her crush Jeremy , Olive impulsively kisses intimidating professor Adam Carlsen to prove she’s moved on. ” The synopsis continues, “What begins as a desperate act of friendship spirals into a fake relationship with rules, boundaries and a mutually beneficial agreement.
When their arrangement begins to blur the lines between performance and reality, Olive is forced to test her most daunting hypothesis yet: that love might actually be worth the risk. ” Jaboukie Young-White and Arty Froushan join Reinhart, Bateman, Marsh and Duvernay in rounding out the film’s cast. Claire Scanlon serves as director on the film, which features a script written by Sarah Rothschild.
