The annual Luminary Trail through Creamer’s Field gives the Fairbanks community a chance to wander through beautifully lit trails.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The annual Luminary Trail through Creamer’s Field gives the Fairbanks community a chance to wander through beautifully lit trails. “It’s just a really great opportunity for the Fairbanks community to get outside and some of these colder winter months and really enjoy the nature of Creamer’s Field, as well as viewing the really beautiful barn structures,” said Grace Nelson, Executive Director of Friends of Creamer’s Field.
“The Luminary Trail is a half mile trail here at Creamer’s Field that we set up every December to celebrate the holiday season and kind of close out our 2024 programs.” “We work with Fish and Game, making sure that the trail is walkable for our participants and attendees,” said Nelson. “And then we have an awesome group of volunteers that goes out about two hours before the event starts. “We laid out about 100 candles this year and there was a lot of prep work creating the ice luminaries prior to the event as well,” said Nelson2 dead, 7 injured in head-on crash outside Fairbanks Families of 5 missing crew members worried after Coast Guard suspends search for capsized fishing boatAnchorage woman dies after head-on crash on icy Wasilla road
