Any snow through weeks end will be very light, with Anchorage seeing up to an inch of snow
ANCHORAGE , Alaska - The well advertised cold snap has been settling into the state, with areas of the Interior waking up to below zero temperatures. While this isn‘t the coldest air we’ve seen this season, this is the longest stretch of cold weather we’ve been dealing with. The coldest day looks to arrive into Wednesday, with a slow warming trend arriving into the weekend. Even with “warmer” weather expected, it will be short-lived, as colder weather spills southward early next week.
We’ll see the coldest day arrive tomorrow, with morning lows set to drop into the single digits and teens. While tomorrow will be near identical, expect temperatures to be roughly five degrees colder in some spots. Our stretch of sunshine comes to an end through the day Thursday, with light snow and slowly warming temperatures into the weekend.Spotty to isolated showers will remain in the forecast today, with some localized areas of dense fog.
