Chicago will experience light snow chances throughout the week, with minimal accumulations expected. The weather will be mostly cloudy with temperatures hovering around freezing.

Chicago has a few chances for light snow during this forecast cycle. Today starts with clouds city-north and clear south. The clouds will eventually overspread the entire viewing area. Highs will be close to 40 degrees. Tonight starts cloudy and dry but light snow arrives from the north during the wee hours. Temps bottom out around freezing-warmer than normal for mid December.

Light snow continues in the morning with minimal accumulations expected but there could be a slushy ½ inch in mainly far northern counties. The rest of the day will be cloudy with a few peeks of late-afternoon sun. Highs will be in the mid 30s. Expect similar temps Thursday with another chance for light snow in the afternoon. Once again accumulations are likely to be light but there could be some impacts during the evening commute, and with some lingering snow showers Friday morning, the same impact. Right now, sticking snow of 2-4 inches is most likely to stay north of The Cheddar Curtain. Friday will have highs around freezing. Saturday will have highs around freezing under a mostly cloudy sky. We will watch for some possible lake-effect snow (light). Sunday looks dry for the Bears game with highs around freezing. Monday and Christmas Eve currently look dry with a warming trend on the way
