FIRST ALERT: Life-threatening flash flooding is ongoing or expected in parts of Southeastern San Diego County, according to the NWS. A Flash Flood Warning has been issued in several communities.

A lightning strike sparked a small brush fire in Campo, according to Cal Fire. Rain helped ground crews in the firefight, and the small fire was stopped within 30 minutes of crews being dispatched, according to Cal Fire Capt. Thomas Shoots.It's going to be hot and humid for the rest of the week, but there will also be occasional opportunities for some lucky folks in San Diego County to get a drink from Mother Nature.
After a few showers and storms made their way through the area on Monday, the overall rain chances drop for Tuesday. An isolated storm or two will be possible in the mountains and desert. Heat and humidity will be widespread across the county with highs a mix of 80s and 90s in many locations, and 70s will hold in near the coast.
There will be a bit of a break between waves of monsoon moisture for Tuesday through Thursday. Late in the week and weekend, the chance for additional showers and storms developing in the mountains will go back up. Temperatures will stay hot the remainder of the week and into the weekend.
