A 37-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of four-year-old Nomthandazo Talakase, North West police said today.
Police spokesperson Colonel Adele Myburgh said Goitsemodimo Patrick Makoro was sentenced at the North West High Court sitting in Vryburg on Monday. Nomthandazo was reported missing on September 11, 2016, and his body was found in bushes near Monotomosetlha informal settlement in Huhudi location on September 19, 2016, by a boy who was hunting.
“The boy’s elders and the police were ultimately alerted by the gruesome discovery. Upon arrival at the scene, the police found the body with a missing left limb. A post mortem which was conducted, revealed that Nomthandazo died due to strangulation,” she said.For more news your way, download The Citizen’s app for
