Life sentence for Free State man who killed and dismembered his mother
The Free State High Court has sentenced Teboho Mokoena, 31, to life imprisonment for killing his 65-year-old mother, Modiehi Khodumo, and dismembering her body in June last year.
On Friday, Judge Joseph Mhlambi also sentenced Mokoena to five years for stabbing his father, Motsumi Joseph Mokoena, several times when he tried to confront him.In June last year, Mokoena's father went to Khodumo's house and found the accused in the garage packing the remains of his mother into a plastic bag.When the police arrived at the house, they found a grinder and cut-up human remains in the garage.
The daughter said she could not perform at university and had to repeat a semester because of the murder, and the ex-husband said his son had taken away a"most innocent soul", who was a pillar of strength to the family and community. Mkhabela told the court that Mokoena had not shown any remorse and was clearly motivated by selfishness, a sense of entitlement, and greed.
