Lies of P, the upcoming Soulslike game from FromSoftware, will not include the message system seen in previous Soulslike titles. This decision is due to the shorter session lengths, which will last around 40 minutes. While this change might disappoint some longtime fans, the developers believe it aligns with the game's focus on direct player interaction. Ghosts of other players will still be present in the game world.

that will center around gameplay sessions that are only meant to last a little under an hour. FromSoftware isn’t letting players loose in a vast open-world to explore like it did inand is instead trying to funnel them toward larger engagements. As a result, this change of format is going to result in a system that has been present in all of FromSoftware’s Soulslike games being done away with.
