Independent Senator Lidia Thorpe has again been quizzed about her stance on the Voice to Parliament, refusing to support the proposal in its current form.

“At this stage, I’ll be voting no to the bill that is before us to change the constitution,” she told ABC Radio on Friday.“Given the government have not come forward with proof on what their interpretation of sovereignty is. “And that’s why I will be putting in an amendment to that bill for them to acknowledge the sovereignty of First Nations people.”
Last month, she made it clear she would not side with the No campaign, claiming it is full of “racists and white supremacy”.
