The 'Lidia Fire' ignited on Soledad Canyon Road in Acton, a region situated between the San Gabriel Mountains and the Sierra Pelona Mountains, on Wednesday afternoon. Cal Fire reported that crews are restricting public access to the fire-affected areas. As of the latest update, the fire has scorched over 348 acres with 40% containment, according to Angeles National Forest.
During a press conference Wednesday evening, LA County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone stated that the fire's forward progress has been halted. A map released by Cal Fire illustrates the impacted areas. Various facilities are providing shelter for families seeking refuge for their pets and animals. This news of the Lidia Fire emerges while crews are actively combating several other fires in LA County. The Palisades Fire has caused significant damage to homes and businesses in the Malibu and Pacific Palisades areas, posing serious threats to Santa Monica, Brentwood, and West Los Angeles. The Eaton Fire has ravaged the Pasadena and Altadena areas, and the Hurst Fire has burned portions of the San Fernando Valley.
