KUALA LUMPUR: Plans to enforce licensing on online service providers are currently being fine-tuned, says Teo Nie Ching.

"This proposal aims to target social media providers and Internet Messaging Services accessible to users in the country, based on predefined assessment criteria," she said in reply to a question from Datuk Shamsulkahar Mohd Deli during the Minister's Question Time. Teo said that the targeted licensing enforcement is considered proportionate given the high prevalence of harmful content on social media and messaging platforms.
