Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (Asaphil) president Jean Henri Lhuillier praised the Cebuana Lhuillier-backed Philippine Blu Girls who secured a spot in 2024 Women's Softball World Cup after finishing a strong fourth place in the Asia Cup on Saturday in Incheon, South Korea.
'I'm so proud of how our girls competed in each game. They went toe to toe with the best of Asia and they showed they deserve that World Cup slot,' said Lhuillier, a long-time supporter of softball in the country.'We will now focus on their preparation for the World Cup and we will ensure that they get the proper training and exposure for that world class competition in July.
We were up by 2 after 2 innings. We just need to continue improving each day at training,' said Blu Girls head coach Randy Dizer.For placing fourth in the Asia Cup, the Philippines was awarded a wild card entry in the 18th World Cup.
