Emmy nominations voting begins today and a group of 40 organizations and film festivals, led by GLAAD, have signed a letter to urge Emmy voters not to forget about FX’s groundbreaking series …
It specifically calls out the transgender and nonbinary actors who lead this series — Mj Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore, Hailie Sahar and Angelica Ross — for support in their respective categories “in a year when so many continue to say that Black Trans Lives Matter,” while also praising the performances on the Peabody, AFI and GLAAD Media Award-winning show as being of “the highest caliber.
The letter, organized by the LGBTQ media advocacy organization, is supported by such organizations as the Black AIDS Institute, Family Equality Council, Frameline, GLSEN, Inside Out, Harlem Pride, Human Rights Campaign, Lambda Legal, National LGBTQ Task Force, National Center for Lesbian Rights, Newfest, Outfest, Transgender Law Center, The Trevor Project, True Colors United and more.
