GLAAD thanks writers, actors, directors, crews, SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America for their efforts.

The percentage of films released by major studios in 2022 that included an LGBTQ character reached its highest point in more than a decade, according to an annual report released on Thursday, Sept. 14, by the GLAAD advocacy group.

Of the 350 films released by the top 10 distributors in 2022, 100 of them, or 28.5%, included an LGBTQ character, according to the report. More than half of those 292 characters, however, had less than five minutes of overall screen time.
