Milan Design Week appearance “reaffirms commitment to embracing and enhancing consumer lifestyles”
With less than a week to go until the annual Milan Design Week opens its doors for 2023, LG Electronics has announced that it will be exhibiting a range of ‘OLED Objet Collection’ TVs at the show featuring unique designs created in conjunction with premium Dutch lifestyle brand, Moooi.
The designer TVs will be built around LG’s Posé and Easel models first shown at technology shows such as CES and IFA in 2022, and actually now available to buy in most territories. If you’re not familiar with these, the Posé models essentially sit on two elegant triangular floor-standing legs and feature a section of felt running along the bottom of the screen that wraps in a gentle curve around the TVs bottom edge before continuing on to cover a large protruding section of the rear.
While the Posé models are designed for situations where a TV might be sat in a relatively central area of a large room, the Easel models are designed to go right up against your wall, with a cover over the screen that can move electronically down either a little, to reveal a small section of the screen showing information such as the time and weather reports, or all the way to the bottom of the support frame to reveal the whole screen when you actually want to watch TV.
In the case of the Posé design, the 2023 Milan Design Week models will see bright, colourful Moooi pattern designs applied to all of the felt areas - so to the strip along the bottom of the screen, and the felt section that covers the majority of the TV’s rear. With the Easel model’s Moooi’s dramatic new styles will be applied to the sliding Kvadrat felt cover, with a matching graphic designed to appear on the screen when it’s exposed.Photo: LG Electronics
