Five years on from the Stoneygate Masterplan and whether it will finally fix Church StreetA pub in Leyland will close at the start of June to undergo an extensive renovation that will see it miss the opportunity to screen two key England fixtures in Euro 2024.
The pub will be back open in time for England’s final group fixture against Slovenia on 25 June and will be serving real ale for the first time in a decade.John Lloyd, a local pub operator who also has the Black Bull in Penwortham and the Plough in Euxton, said: “The Wheatsheaf is a good local community pub with great customers. The sympathetic refurbishment is designed to give regulars a better, more comfortable environment in which to socialise.
The pub will be showing both live Sky and TNT sports, with plans for dominoes, karaoke, quizzes and regular entertainment.
