SUV sales were up 16 percent January to June, but EV output climbed by almost 47 percent in the same period
Lexus registered its best ever half-year sales in January to June 2024. EV sales were up 46.5 percent in H1 and accounted for 36.5 percent of all deliveries. SUV deliveries also rose 15.7 percent as buyers moved away from traditional sedans. Lexus has registered its strongest ever half year sales in the US, making 2024’s January to June period the most successful in 35 years. The upscale Toyota brand shifted 11.
The NX had its best period yet in all its combustion, hybrid and plug-in hybrid forms, and the RX hybrid and PHEV and the RZ all set their own personal bests. Toyota’s press release trumpeting the brand’s achievements also singles out the TX SUV for having its best ever H1 period. But it would have been hard for the TX not so set a record given that it wasn’t even available until fall 2023.
