After two people drowned in Lewisville Lake this week, the city is closing public access to the swimming beach at Lewisville Lake Park.
“That’s why we want to remind people that life jackets should be worn anytime a person enters the water,” Martucci said in a written statement.after the Lewisville Fire Department’s dive team responded to the public swimming area of the park. The 17-year-old boy has not been identified.According to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office, 45-year-old Chianti Reed drowned in the lake near the beach Sunday.
Martucci said the man, who was not wearing a life jacket, went under water in the public swim area about 3:40 p.m.in the lake, including a 19-year-old man who went under the surface while swimming at the beach.
