Lewis Capaldi has stunned fans after announcing his new single, Forget Me, will be released on September 9

as he gives fans an insight into his time away from the spotlight.

However, taking to Instagram on Friday night, the 25-year-old has given fans an update on how he has spent the last couple years. Speaking to the camera, he joked: "What have I been up to all this time? Working away, bought a house, joined the Illuminati. During his second night in London, Capaldi told fans: "It's good to be back. I'm very happy." He continued: "I said at the start of the show it's been a while since I released new music, a very long time, three years in fact, but thankfully on 9 September that changes.

"I am showing 20,000 people my song for the first time. I'm very nervous. No one has heard any of this music apart from you all here tonight," he told buzzing fans.
