A round of severe storms will be possible for all of Alabama on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Just about all of Alabama will have a Level 2 out of 5 risk for severe weather on Thursday. All modes of severe weather will be possible on Thursday, including tornadoes. There will also be a Level 1 risk for storms on Wednesday for the northwestern part of the state.

Tornadoes, damaging winds, hail and heavy rain will all be possible with Thursday’s storms, while Wednesday’s storms could bring high winds and flooding.will go into effect for all of north Alabama at 3 p.m. Tuesday, according to the weather service. NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has a Level 2 out of 5 risk -- or slight risk -- for severe weather in place for the majority of Alabama for Thursday.The storms are expected to develop along or ahead of a cold front that will push into the state from the west.

The timing is also not a sure thing, but the most likely time frame for bad weather will begin Thursday afternoon in west Alabama and spread eastward through the evening hours.On Wednesday the northwest corner of Alabama will have a Level 1 -- or marginal -- risk. A Level 1 risk means that isolated severe storms will be possible.
