After Lance Lynn delivered one of his best starts yet this season, Leury García and the rest of his Chicago teammates wanted to make good on it.
García broke up a scoreless game on an RBI single with two outs in the top of the ninth, and the White Sox beat the San Francisco Giants 1-0 on Friday night.And back up Lynn’s strong outing: The right-hander allowed struck out five and walked two over six scoreless innings.
Andrew Vaughn hit a two-out double for the White Sox in the eighth against Dominic Leone, who then induced Luis Robert’s inning-ending groundout. "I thought we had a really good plan and approach in the first and something that I think we’ve been consistently dealing with, it’s just that one more big at-bat that changes the course of an inning and a game, and the big inning has been so important to us for so long and we’re just not having that right now," manager Gabe Kapler said. "There’s nothing really to do any differently.
