In 1968, driven to serve the people of God , the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Los Angeles eschewed traditional habits despite admonishments from Catholic hierarchy.
The depressing reactions to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence at the state Capitol on Monday as well as fearful reactions during Pride Month only fuel hatred, indulging in ignorance. Perhaps, but do they have to be so insulting, hurtful and disrespectful? You are not offended by the obscene and immoral mocking of the crucifixion of Christ? You are not offended by the disgusting contest to find the “Do you think they would dare to come out as the Prophet Muhammad in drag?
