Readers urge the U.S. House to compromise; encourage politicians to follow the polls on what Americans want; worry about abortion laws; don’t like the noise level at Globe Life Field; and discuss what Christians believe.
Now some county-level GOP organizations in Texas want to ban in vitro fertilization because of “reasonable moral questions,” so that’s another avenue off the table for having children if we have complications. So I was thrilled to learn that the April 7 night game at Globe Life Field would be played with the roof open, the first time I would experience open air at that park. From the moment I stepped through the turnstile, I was bombarded with an aural assault that was excruciating to endure.
However, there are some nuances to consider. While I understand the temptation to compare Jesus’ actions to our modern situation, it’s important to remember the vastly different contexts. Jesus’ mission focused on spiritual redemption, establishing a kingdom transcending earthly power structures. In contrast, our democratic system explicitly encourages involvement in shaping governance.
