Letters to the Editor
Readers appreciate Dough Dunbar’s tributes to veterans, the career of retired Maj. Gen. Jim Williams and Dallas sanitation workers.
Dunbar has been on many of these flights to Washington to honor veterans of all wars and allow them to reconnect and heal from these conflicts. This flight was very personal to Dunbar, whose father fought and was killed in Vietnam.Dunbar was very emotional during a broadcast report on the flight and rightfully so. Being a Gold Star child, he noted that Vietnam veterans were looked upon much differently than they are today.— We often don’t pay attention to the great people we have in our midst.
Right now, too many of our leaders gain followers by talking trash about others. They foster hate and anger. We need more positive leaders like Williams.— Dallas’ sanitation workers go above and beyond to collect big trash each month. Not too long ago, they had to come twice to get a large collection of trash.
