I told Parker I was disappointed by his lack of integrity in his initial vote to dismiss and now I am more disappointed in his evasiveness about why.Re: “End the death penalty,” by David Carlock, Sept. 1 Letters.
I was also disappointed by the news that the Collin County district attorney was not pursuing the death penalty for Chemirmir. If this isn’t a prime example of why the death penalty exists, I don’t know what else would qualify. This young boy was able to attend the summer camp for a number of years when suddenly he experienced a remission. He then volunteered at the camp but at age 16, he suffered a relapse. Somehow, with advances in modern medicine, he became cancer-free again. He became a doctor and married a doctor. He never forgot his experiences at the camp. He volunteered there as a doctor. He was such an inspiration he had been appointed the chief of medicine at the camp.
