Letters to the Editor

It is emblematic of his disregard for the institutions and people he serves in this city. The citizens of Dallas deserve better than to be duped by the self-serving mayor who apparently sees a better political future for himself hanging out with the likes of Ted Cruz and Ken Paxton.

I wish him luck when he runs for political office in Texas as a Republican with his voting record in the Legislature. Just wait till they dig a little deeper and listen to his DEI-inspired conclusions to his 1994 Greenhill School graduation speech.I realize some may think I have no skin in the game because I live in Mesquite, but I believe that Johnson’s party switch has implications as an example for others.

What Johnson is clearly trying to do is attain a statewide office, not to do better for Dallas and the area. “You have to be a super-conservative Republican to get statewide office.” Our cities will not get his touted “genuine commitment” to best principles but to conservative principles, which seem to be best for the officials, not the people. How sad.Eric Johnson is so dedicated to the city of Dallas that he announced his move to the Republican Party in an opinion piece published in.
