Following the late December formation of Israel’s new government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, both President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken reiterated U.S. support for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conundrum. Our longstanding position in favor of two democratic states living side by side more or less along the 1967 border mirrors the European Union’s position and the Arab Peace Initiative of 2002.
When I read this headline, I expected to hear of a rocket attack from Hamas-controlled Gaza or renewed violence in East Jerusalem. I could scarcely believe it when I read that the true provocation was that Palestinian leaders were publicly urging the International Court of Justice to render an opinion regarding the legality of Israel’s occupation of the West Bank.
Data taken from the census website shows that Texas spends an average of $10,300 per student. In contrast, the rest of the country pays an average of $13,300 per student. Why are other states’ students worth $3,000 more than ours? In Paris , a 15% service fee is automatically included in eateries. The server is a professional. Therefore, by law, servers in France get salaries, paid vacations, health care and living wages.
